Building a strong and organic musical relationship which first transpired from social media, Nigerian singer/songwriter Kah-Lo and British DJ & producer Riton continue to take the world by storm.
Enjoying incredible success with their chart-topping 2016 hit ‘Rinse & Repeat’ which was later nominated for a GRAMMY – securing a place as one of BBC Radio 1’s ten most played tracks of the year – their natural musical chemistry is something which flows naturally.
“I was always on the look-out for a singer that had something a little bit special,” explains Riton. “Finally my prayers were answered in the form of Kah-Lo”, referring to the moment he spotted her Soundcloud page whilst the singer/songwriter was still working in New York coffee shops.
A random follow back on Twitter, and Riton – fresh from the success of his critically acclaimed ‘Bad Guy Ri Ri’ EP – kick-started the beginnings of one of dance music’s most exciting partnerships. Offering fan-favourite hits, including ‘Fasta’, ‘Fake ID’, ‘Betta Riddim’ and ‘Ginger’, the pair have since received a wealth of support from the likes of Annie Mac and Mistajam, embarking on tours together round Australia and the United States.
A Nigerian-born rising-star, Kah-Lo’s distinctive vocal range and soulful tones have amassed interest across all corners of the globe, becoming the most streamed female Nigerian artist in the world. Partnered with Riton’s stomping house basslines, the pair have amassed over 140 million streams on previous releases together.
With the two going from strength to strength with an impressive chain of hits over the course of 2018, the duo of the hour have invented their very own authentic sound. Their debut joint album Foreign Ororo, released on September 28th , not only serves their greatest party hits that have filled dancefloors worldwide, but also introduces fresh exciting tunes that are sure to continue the much-deserved hype around Riton & Kah-Lo.
